Habanero pepper is one of the spiciest varieties available, it’s a hundred times hotter than a jalapeño pepper. Their heat depends on color: green is mild, orange for medium heat and red for extreme heat.
Habanero has a mild aroma but it won’t be detectable after cooking it. Similar in shape and often confused with red scotch bonnet peppers used in the Caribbean that have a strong aroma that would remain palpable after cooking.
Grown in Dominican Republic.
